Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Okiru mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using Okiru, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Okiru.
2. The Service
Okiru is a language-learning alarm clock: it schedules alarms that require completing a short study session before they can be dismissed, along with flashcards, spaced-repetition review, and progress tracking.
3. Subscriptions & Billing
Okiru offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (“Okiru Pro”) that unlocks additional features. The following applies to any subscription purchase:
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price you agreed to at purchase.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your device’s account settings (Apple App Store or Google Play), after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• No refund will be given for the unused portion of a subscription term, except as required by law or Apple/Google policy.
4. Your Content
You may create custom flashcards and categories within the App. You retain ownership of the content you create, and you’re responsible for making sure it doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s rights.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the App — including attempting to disrupt its operation, reverse-engineer it beyond what’s permitted by law, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
6. Intellectual Property
Okiru, its logo, and its original content are owned by us. Bundled vocabulary content is sourced from openly licensed datasets; attribution is available on request.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Okiru is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you achieve any particular learning outcome.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Okiru is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App for anyone who violates these Terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
